Although I was born in Miami, Florida, my family moved to Junction City, Kansas when I was seven years old. This is where I spent the majority of my childhood-a very small town with no mall-lol. I began my teaching career in Manhattan, Kansas, then migrated to Hartford, Connecticut and eventually my family relocated to the Columbus area in 1998 where I began teaching with Columbus City Schools at the Columbus Africentric School. This will be my 21st year in the teaching profession. Wow!

As a little girl, I used to go to school with my aunt who was a teacher’s aide and that’s when my passion for teaching began. She and many of the other educators had such a positive effect on students-I wanted to be just like them! I have a genuine interest in enriching and transforming students’ minds so that they can reach their full academic potential and contribute positively in our classroom, at home and in society.
